Sent Ones of Calvary
Disciple-making that moves beyond the church walls
Sent Ones exists to help Calvary members live as everyday missionaries—sharing the gospel, forming relationships, and making disciples who make disciples in homes and everyday spaces.
We do this through a simple, biblical rhythm called the 3/3 Meeting—a reproducible pattern of discipleship that builds obedience, community, and mission.
Why “Sent Ones”?
Jesus did not call His church to gather and stay—He called us to go.
Sent Ones is for people who want to take the Great Commission seriously in daily life—at home, at work, in neighborhoods, and across Nacogdoches.
Our Mission:
Make disciples who make disciples—one relationship at a time.
The 3/3 Meeting: Our Disciple-Making Rhythm
At Sent Ones, we use a simple meeting format called the 3/3 Meeting. It is designed to be:
Scripture-centered
Obedience-based
Relational
Mission-focused
Reproducible (a new believer can learn to lead it)
It has three parts:
The Three Parts of a 3/3 Meeting
1) Look Back
Care, accountability, and obedience
We begin by looking back at the previous week:
How did you obey what God showed you?
Who did you pray for or share with?
What did God do?
Where do you need encouragement?
This portion builds a culture of real-life discipleship, not information-only Christianity.
2) Look Up
Discovery Bible Study (DBS) — the Word does the work
This is where DBS fits in.
During the “Look Up” portion, we practice Discovery Bible Study, a simple, Scripture-first approach that helps people see truth and respond with obedience.
We read a short passage and ask:
What does this teach us about God?
What does it teach us about people?
What should I obey or change because of this?
Who can I share this with?
We believe Scripture is sufficient and powerful. DBS keeps the focus on God’s Word and helps groups grow in faith and obedience.
3) Look Forward
Mission, prayer, and next steps
We end by looking forward:
What step of obedience will you take this week?
Who will you share this with?
Who will you invite next time?
How can we pray for courage and open doors?
This ensures the group stays outward-focused and continues to move toward multiplication.
What Sent Ones Groups Look Like
Sent Ones groups are simple and flexible. They can meet:
* In a home
* Around a kitchen table
* At a coffee shop
* In a break room
* Anywhere conversation and Scripture can happen
Most groups meet weekly or bi-weekly for 45–60 minutes.

Obedience-Based Discipleship
We aim for real-life obedience, not just knowledge.
Reproducibility
We use patterns that can multiply through everyday people.
Team Ministry
We go together, pray together, and follow up together.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Sent Ones replacing Sunday School?
No. Sent Ones strengthens Calvary’s disciple-making mission by helping us carry the Word beyond our walls.
Do I have to host a group in my home?
No. Some groups meet in homes, but others meet in public places or wherever a conversation can happen.
What if I don’t know how to answer questions?
That’s okay. DBS teaches us to return to the text: “What does the passage say?” We’ll also train you and support you.
What if we need to disciple our own people first?
We agree discipleship is essential. The 3/3 Meeting is designed to strengthen discipleship while also building a natural rhythm of evangelism.
